Sacred Movements from the Shamans of Ancient Mexico
February is a time of cleansing and new beginnings in cultures around the world.
In this two-day workshop we will practice sacred movements from the shamans of Ancient Mexico and breathing techniques to cleanse the past year, replenish our energy and activate our intent for 2020.
Supported by these sacred movements and breathing practices, we will recapitulate our journey through twelve fields of experience: our bodies, our feelings, our thoughts, our family, our creations, our routines, our connection to others, our unconscious, our philosophy, our career, our relationship to community and our relationship to infinity.
We will release emotions, clear the mind and connect to our Energy Body. As we liberate our stories, we create space for new energy to flow, allowing the best part of ourselves to be born into 2020 – a significant year from astrological and numerological perspectives.
On Saturday after the workshop a special evening celebration will take place at Concord Institute for those who wish to attend, in accord with Celtic tradition of Imbolc festival.
Imbolc is one of the four main Celtic festivals of the year, marking a bridge between the year that ends and the new one that begins. In Ireland it is the time to celebrate Brigid, Goddess of healing, poetry and childbirth.
The festival is in close alignment with the Lunar New Year (which takes place one week before) and falls mid-way between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. It is a moment whereby we cross over from the energy of Winter – the last season of one year, and move toward the energy of Spring, the first season in the new year.
In line with this Ancient tradition and the natural cycles of nature, this workshop offers a harmonious opportunity to cleanse the year gone by, and set foot in the dawning year with renewed energy and celebration.
This workshop is facilitated by Guilhem Morera (a.k.a. Jim Morris). Guilhem is the founder of the Dragonfly Practices. He studied for 10 years with the apprentices of Carlos Castaneda in Los Angeles, is now based in France and travels extensively across Europe to facilitate workshops.
