Summer Is Yellow

You know the saying “you are what you eat”? Well nothing could be closer to the truth – food creates your body, who you are, how you feel and how you act or react! In that case we should really be paying attention to what we are putting into our bodies. There is overwhelming evidence that eating quality wholefoods (as opposed to mass produced processed fast food) is beneficial to health and vitality. The problem for a lot of people is where to begin. Many people are unfamiliar with cooking any meal “from scratch”, never mind making dishes with what seem to be truly weird sounding ingredients.

This course will support you in preparing and cooking wholefood ingredients in order to make delicious, attractive looking and nutritious meals for yourself and your family and friends.

You will:

  • Learn how to use simply: whole grains (brown rice, quinoa, barley, bulgur, couscous etc.); pulses (beans, lentils, chick peas etc.); sea vegetables (kombu, nori etc.); nuts, seeds, condiments, miso, tofu, seitan and tempeh
  • Learn how to choose good ingredients to store in your pantry and why it pays to invest in good quality cookware
  • Attend demonstrations and prepare under the cook’s guidance several delicious wholefood dishes, using seasonal foods
  • Enjoy eating what you have cooked with your classmates and the cook, from whom you will receive accessible and friendly coaching - ask whatever you want to know about preparing and cooking great food!
