A chronology of the Community Health Foundation / Concord Institute down the last 30 years.

1976: Community Health Foundation registered as Charitable Trust (no. 271847)
William Tara, Founding Director.
Lease taken for 20 yrs. on St. Luke's school, 188 Old Street, London EC1.

1977: Facilities completed; Holistic Health educational programme of classes, courses, seminars and
conferences. The following services were provided
East West Natural Food Store.
The Source Bookshop
The Seven Sheaves Restaurant
Earth Mother Pre-school Playgroup
Conference Centre
The Project became known as The East West Centre
Grants given by Cripplegate Foundation, London Borough Of Islington, Craigmyle Family Trust.

1978: Kushi Institute of Great Britian (in-depth studies and teacher-training) established as core educational
programme.

1981: Denny Waxman succeeds William Tara as Director.
New focus to educational programme.

1983: East West Store upgraded, becomes Clearspring.
Seven Sheaves now East West Restaurant.

1984: British School of Shiatsu created from C.H.F. Shiatsu programme.

1986: Simon Brown becomes Director.
Educational programme expanded.

1994: Greg Johnson takes over role of Director.
Educational Programme radically transformed

1999: C.H.F. leaves Old Street.
Concord Institute for Integral Studies established to design, develop and deliver the core
programme of education.

2000: New facility at Blackstock Mews.
Concord School of Culinary Arts established.
Curriculum further developed.

2005: New facility at Thane Works opens, with state-of art Cooking School and Bodywork Studio.
