Breaking Free
A healthy narrative drives us toward our true potential. An unwholesome narrative keeps us anchored to the past and held back from our personal vision and life purpose. An unwholesome narrative appears in our emotional habits, how we respond or react life as it unfolds around us. It forms an emotional landscape that limits our action and stifles our imagination. Fortunately habits can be broken and productive and creative ways of thinking, feeling and doing can take their place.

Heartspace
Where I and Thou meet authentically is where we find God, says the Jewish mystic and scholar, Martin Buber. To what is he alluding? Our inability to encounter each other authentically, naked if you will, not mediated through the social veneer of our personalities and concomitant strategies, may be the main reason why there is so much suffering and anxiety in the area of human relationships.

Idols and Addictions
In the beginning was a unique and dynamic set of perceptions. That was you. But that wasn’t what was wanted. What was wanted was a fixed concept that would fit into a story. You accommodated in order to survive. You objectified yourself and gave your power to that object as yourself. That is, you replaced yourself with an idol, which you regarded as reality. But this idol is a hungry and unsatisfied god, which demands that life be sacrificed to it over and over again. It can never experience satisfaction, only temporary relief.

And yet we pay almost no attention to what is meant by leadership, nor to the kind of leadership necessary to lead our own life, never mind anyone else’s. So what do we mean by leadership?
