| Basic Alchemy with Michael Rossoff A new programme from Concord Institute, covering the fundamentals of Macrobiotics. |
Health is our birthright. How to maintain it is our responsibility. Disease, disability, depression, decline and death are our culture’s vision for our future. We can change this view into a reality that embraces life’s changes, where sickness can lead to greater health and where confusion can lead to greater clarity. This program is a gateway for personal change through an understanding of the essentials of Oriental medicine and macrobiotic principles. These insights are easily understood and usable by everyone. Oriental Medicine This 2-part study program is designed for everyone interested in being more self-confident in caring for themselves or others. Oriental healing is over 3,000 years old. Tested and refined through the ages, it now offers the West insights and new paradigms for fuller healing. We have combined essential teachings from Oriental philosophy and healing along with vital understandings from macrobiotic teachings. The material is presented in an easy to learn format and will open new doors of personal understanding. These studies are particularly important for all types of healthcare practitioners, such as doctors, nurses, chiropractors, psychologists, massage therapists, natural healing professionals and others. You will find an abundance of useful insights and healing techniques. Our modern Western beliefs about the body, mind and spirit are undergoing re-evaluation. This course offers tools for discovering your own answers based on ancient Oriental yin-yang paradigm, Five Element, meridian concepts and acupressure points, for example. Further, we will explore the parallels with Western anatomy and physiology. We will examine our views of the body, sickness, healing and health. We will challenge popular assumptions such as inheriting disease, and the belief that aging brings only decline, dementia and death by disease. Through this in-depth study we can reach a deep appreciation of Western and Eastern concepts of body and mind. Further, we will explore the body-mind-spirit connection in ways that expand our understanding and give direct tools for experiencing their unity. This course is divided into two sections, one in the Autumn and the other in the Spring. Each section is an intensive study program on a Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday plus the following Tuesday evening. All of the classes are led by Michael Rossoff.
